2016 saw the launch of our Front of House initiative the Switch, it also saw Emma Underwood, GM of Burnt Truffle, join the TMRW project team to spearhead the project!
The Switch happened the week of October 10, with restaurants of different styles, environments and/or locations were paired up. It was a chance for Front of House staff to switch restaurants and therefore experience different environments and learn off their peers. The initiative was two-fold, it was a chance for staff to learn (either from being in a new place, or hosting new people in their restaurant) and develop networks across the industry, but it was also a chance for us to talk about Front of House in more public way.
We wanted to shine a spot light on the wonderful career that hospitality has to offer, and the exciting role of Front of House.
The restaurants involved were: Duck & Waffle, The Black Swan, The Man Behind The Curtain, Brunt Truffle, Noble Rot, Pidgin, Gaucho & Tredwell’s
We got some great press coverage, and lots of social media engagement. Please do read and share the experiences of all those that took part:
Here is an interview on Monocle Radio about the Switch
